A sign of the times

In Luke chapter 21, Jesus told His disciples: " Look at the fig tree and all the trees. When they sprout leaves, you can see for yourselves and know that summer is near. Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that the kingdom of God is near."

In recent days, we have seen this prophetic word fulfilled before our eyes. The leaves are indeed sprouting across the trees of the region. If the fig tree represents Israel, and it sprouted in 1948, then we see now the sprouting of all the other trees. From Tunisia, Yemen, Egypt, Iran, Libya and soon all the rest of the nations in the region.

In the previous post I have stated that the second horsemen has already come. Even now, the third horseman is coming. Food inflation is becoming a reality in many parts of the world. Yet the world system still supports the production of luxuries for the rich. This is truly as prophesied in the book of Revelations.

The second seal - no peace

The second sign is often though of as the sign of war. And it could be said the clearest sign was that of the two world wars. All through human history there have been wars, but not on this scale. The two world wars brought virtually all humanity into war.

But this sign does not end at these two world wars. Just as the the sign of the first horseman will remain with us until the return of our Lord, the sign of this second horseman will also remain.

The spirit of the second horseman will cause people to kill each other and thus taking peace away from man. All through history nations go to war for gain or for pride. But this spirit causes men to hate each other in a deeper way. We see this in the terrorist and the spirit of terrorism.

At no time in history do we find so many people willing to give their lives just to kill others. During the second world war, we see that in Japan, much coercion and preparation was needed just to train the kamakazi pilots to sacrifice their lives for their nation. Now, it seems people are willing to kill at a whim and there are no shortage of volunteers willing to die and to kill.

This is just an indication of the spirit of the times. The second horseman have surely arrive and will continue to take peace away from mankind, at least until our Lord returns.

The first horsemen - The Conqueror

In Revelation chapter 6, we see the sign of the 4 horsemen. In this post I want to dwell on the significance and meaning of the 1st horseman.

Actually this prophecy started when Jesus Christ (after He was crucified and resurrected), was found worthy to open the 7 seals that sealed up God's will from being fulfilled on earth.

The first seal was the rise of a conqueror, riding on a white horse, with a bow and he was later given a crown.

After the writing of the book of Revelation, there have risen many conquerors and empires. And even before this, conquering another nation were a prevalent form of nation building. So what is so special about this sign of the conqueror that differs from the others.

I believe this sign of the conqueror is Islam. Islam both as a religion and a political power has been allowed by God to be a sign for Christians that it is the starting of the end of the age.

Islam started as a militant power and continues to be a militant power even today. The people under this entity are considered muslims. Muslims mean the surrendered. They belief themselves to be surrendred to God, but in actuality they have been subjugated by this conquering spirit. Those who are subjects of this spirit can be manipulated by this spirit.

So everytime we see the presence of Islam, we see a sign that the Lord is in charge. He is coming. This is but the first sign.
